The mobility project “Social Car” at Wintersteiger is going well: Since the last delivery, 88 employees have been driving an electric car supported by the company under the motto “Think Green”. You can choose from the VW ID.3, Cupra Born or a Fiat 500 electric model.

Including the electric company cars, the Rieder company already has more than 100 electric cars – almost one in six Wintersteiger employees drives electric, the company said in a press release.

In parallel to the vehicle fleet, the charging stations on the company premises are being expanded rapidly: there are already 20 electric parking spaces, and a fast charging station with 150 kW recently went into operation. In order to sustainably cover the electricity requirements for e-mobility, Wintersteiger has expanded the existing photovoltaic system at the company headquarters in Ried to currently 500 kilowatt peak (kWp).

“We are proud of this great campaign. With the affordable ‘Social Car’ we are expanding the Wintersteiger catchment area to include, for example, Linz, Steyr and Enns. The fresh design immediately catches the eye”, explains HR Manager Elisabeth Kriechbaumer, who is implementing the project together with three colleagues. The offer goes to all employees at the seven Wintersteiger locations in Austria.

In addition to Ried, it also applies in Mettmach and St. Martin, in Vienna, Altach and Bartholomäberg in Vorarlberg and in Liezen in Styria.
