The EU Commission is strengthening the rights of travelers. This means that money refunds should be secured even in the event of the tour operator going bankrupt. If you miss your connection, it should no longer matter if you travel with different means of transport. There are also plans to give passengers with disabilities more rights. According to the authority, the package of measures presented on Wednesday draws conclusions from the pandemic and the bankruptcy of the organizer Thomas Cook in 2019.
Advance payments for travel packages are to be regulated more strictly in the future. They cannot be more than a quarter of the total price – unless the organizers themselves are forced to make a higher payment to hotels or airlines in advance.
