Fewer donations of goods from retailers, rising prices and rents and more and more customers at food banks and social markets: These are challenging times for the Braunauer Tafel with its three locations. In order to support those who can no longer afford everyday goods, the organization is collecting in front of the Hofer branches in Braunau and Altheim from today, November 30th, until Saturday, December 2nd.
Customers are asked to buy an extra piece and donate it to the food bank. The collection of goods takes place in the checkout area. “With this campaign we want to ensure that we have more everyday goods available for our clients,” says the chairman of the food bank, Konrad Prommegger. Diapers in sizes two to six and baby care products are urgently needed. Also: staple foods such as pasta, rice and flour, coffee and tea, canned meat and vegetables, toothbrushes and cream, detergent, soap and feminine hygiene products.
The Braunauer Tafel regularly supports people in need in Braunau, Altheim and Hochburg-Ach at the distribution points. In order to be able to supply those who are not mobile, there is a delivery service for Braunau, Eggelsberg and Ostermiething. Because demand is increasing, monetary donations are also necessary. These are tax deductible; the Braunauer Tafel recently received the donation seal of approval from the Chamber of Tax Consultants and Auditors. “This award confirms that the Braunauer Tafel uses its donations carefully and appropriately,” says Prommegger.
