A 45-year-old man from Innviertel had a blood alcohol level of 2.58 when he got behind the wheel of his car on Thursday morning. At an intersection in the municipality of Lochen am See (Braunau district), his car collided around 6 a.m. with the car of a 41-year-old from the Salzburg-Land district. The other party involved in the accident sustained minor injuries. The drunk man from Innviertel, whose car was thrown into an adjacent meadow due to the force of the impact, survived the accident uninjured.
Threats and violation of decency
He didn’t appear to be sympathetic at all: while the accident was being recorded, he threatened the 41-year-old and insulted the officers. His driver’s license was taken away and he was forbidden to continue driving. In addition, he must expect charges of dangerous threats and breach of decency. A temporary ban on weapons was also announced, the police announced on Thursday morning.
Just a few hours earlier, an alcoholic accident had called for the police in the Innviertel: In the municipality of St. Marienkirchen (Schärding district), a 32-year-old had lost control of his car. The car came off the L1145 and overturned. An alcohol test on the driver showed a value of 1.82 per mille.
