The former Ried legionnaire Agyemang Diawusie died of a “sudden cardiac death, presumably caused by a viral infection with suspected myocarditis”. This was announced on Thursday by the German third division soccer team Jahn Regensburg, for whom Diawusie, who died at the beginning of the week at the age of 25, played.
In the summer of 2022, offensive player Agyemang Diawusie moved from Dynamo Dresden to SV Guntamatic Ried. The 25-year-old played one competitive game for the Innviertel team and several games for the Young Vikings before moving to Bayreuth in January 2023. In the summer, Diawusie signed a contract with the current leaders of the third division in Germany, Jahn Regensburg. Diawusie made twelve appearances in 16 games for Regensburg this season.
