The trial began late because the man, who had multiple convictions and had already spent nine years of his life in prison, was conspicuous by his absence. He was picked up at home by the police and then brought before judge Stefan Kiesl in the jury room. The defendant stole an e-bike worth 900 euros in Mehrnbach and an e-scooter in front of the AMS in Ried.
The police discovered the well-known thief through video recordings. Due to a number of relevant previous convictions (narcotics trafficking, property crimes, etc.) and the rapid relapse, the judge had no choice but to impose an unconditional prison sentence of seven months. The accused now has four weeks to begin imprisonment in the Ried prison.
