30 percent of the 1,600 telephone and online respondents (fluctuation range 2.5 percentage points) would vote for the FPÖ. This would put her well ahead of the SPÖ (24 percent) and ÖVP (23 percent). The Greens would have 12 percent, the Neos would have 7 percent and the KPÖ would have 3 percent.
The FPÖ would thus almost double its share of the vote in the EU elections. In 2019, with around 17 percent, it came in third place behind the ÖVP (35) and SPÖ (24). While the Social Democrats would at least maintain their weak result from 2019, the ÖVP, which would like to call itself the European party, would, according to the survey, expect a real crash. In mid-October, the FPÖ, SPÖ and ÖVP were tied at 25 percent in a survey by the Institute for Demoscopy & Data Analysis (IFDD) for the APA – Austria Press Agency.
The result of the current Unique Research survey would mean slight losses for the Greens and Neos; in 2019 they came to 14 and 8 percent respectively. According to the survey, the KPÖ will see a relatively large increase (from 0.8 percent to 3), but that would still be too little for it to enter the EU Parliament.

Still many undecided
At 15 percent, the group of eligible voters who are sure they will cast their vote but are still undecided about who they will vote for is still quite large. At the time of the survey (November 22nd to 29th), it was still unclear who would run as the top candidate for three parties (ÖVP, Greens, Neos). The FPÖ is entering the race with EU mandate Harald Vilimsky. Pollster Peter Hajek sees “advantages for the ÖVP and SPÖ” in the undecided group.
Voter turnout is likely to go down a bit again after the historically second highest figure in 2019: 56 percent want to take part this time. Last time it was almost 60 percent.
