It was a major operation that went a little differently than planned. The police forces of the state traffic departments and all district and city police commanders carried out traffic controls on Saturday night. The focus was on alcohol and drug addicts. Due to the heavy snowfall and the slippery roads, many accidents were recorded and drivers who had left the road or got stuck were helped.
The balance of the priority checks is nevertheless extensive. More than 2,200 alcohol tests were carried out. For 29 drivers this resulted in over 0.8 per mille, 16 drivers had between 0.5 and 0.79 per mille. Six drivers were under the influence of drugs and one truck driver was driving without a driver’s license. There were also 154 reports under traffic law and 138 punishment orders. Twelve license plates were taken away due to technical defects on the vehicle, and one person was caught with a fake foreign ID card.
