27-year-old driver overlooked Traunseetram – serious accident at the level crossing

The car was totaled and the two occupants were flown to the hospital with injuries

The accident occurred on Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. A 27-year-old from the Wels-Land district was driving on the L1306. At the unbarred “Pfarrerbauer” level crossing, she apparently overlooked the approaching train. The car crashed into the front part of the Traunsee tram. The front of the tram was badly damaged and the car was a total loss.

The 27-year-old and her co-driver of the same age were both flown to hospital with injuries by the Martin 3 rescue helicopter.

The FF Kirchham was in action. The cleanup work was completed after around 1.5 hours.
