The defendant confessed to the crime on the first day of the jury trial, and the defense pleaded manslaughter. According to the court, the verdict is not final.
The defendant is said to have killed the 57-year-old early on August 24th last year with 15 powerful blows to the head with a pointed chisel. The victim died of a traumatic brain injury. The accused reported in his interview at the start of the trial in June that he had been rejected and insulted or humiliated. He then hit the back of the woman’s head with the weapon several times: “I wasn’t in control of myself.”

After the killing, the accused faked a break-in into his house and disposed of the murder weapon in a windbreak belt. When he returned, he called 911 to report the discovery of his dead wife. The 65-year-old was initially considered a witness, but was arrested a short time later.
Because the pensioner is said to have claimed to the criminal police and before the detention and legal protection judge that an unknown burglar had killed his partner, he was also accused of knowingly faking the commission of an act that was punishable by law. The 65-year-old admitted to this accusation.
