Suburban transport increases its rates by 3.37%

He Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP) notified companies of a 3.37% increase in suburban transportation, although they are still waiting for the president Luis Lacalle Pou sign the decree to be able to determine when the increases begin to take effect; On the other hand, interdepartmental transportation will carry out a strike this Friday.

The MTOP is waiting for the president to sign the decree that determines the increase in ratesan event that could be postponed for a few days because the president is at the 63rd summit of the Mercosur in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

From the signature of Lacalle Pou, the average increase of 3.37% in rates can be determined, a fact that is repeated twice a year after the permission of the Executive power and in accordance with the salary agreements of the workers in the sector.

Interdepartmental transport strike

The Union of Workers and Transport Workers (Unott) resolved that this Friday an interdepartmental transportation strike will be carried out for 24 hours in the framework of a claim for the dismissal of four workers.

In that sense, the union highlighted that this determination is carried out due to the “lack of progress regarding the four workers unjustly dismissed by Agencia Central-DAC, in a clear act of union persecution.” Furthermore, they highlighted that the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) It did not reach a successful conclusion with negotiations nor could it achieve “a change of attitude on the part of the company.”
