In 2003, the Inkoba Region Freistadt was founded in the Mader Inn. Almost exactly 20 years later, all 27 member communities in the district celebrated the successes of the community association for business settlement and site development in the Salzhof Freistadt with companies and partners.
The first company to follow this infrastructure development initiative and establish itself in the Freistadt district was Bio One. Numerous other settlements followed. Today the association has nine locations with an operating area of around 70 hectares. A tenth location is in the works. 36 companies with 1,100 employees are based there: from Kreisel Electric to Dorninger Hytronics to Landtechnik Zacharias. Several expansions are planned for a further 350 employees.
Last year, €1.4 million in local tax revenue was transferred by these companies to the member municipalities and distributed according to the distribution key. That is more than 10 percent of the total local tax revenue in the Freistadt district. Managing Director Christa Kreindl: “Bringing work to people is the goal of Inkoba. Our balance sheet shows that we were able to implement this consistently.”
The centerpiece of the anniversary evening were honors for the deserving BGM (ret.) Fritz Stockinger and BGM (ret.) Willi Wurm. Thanks also went to the group of founding people who initiated the “Inkoba” project in 2003. “Sharing is always good” is the motto that Fritz Stockinger coined for Inkoba. This was also the motto for the entertaining conclusion with sharing memories and good ideas for the next 20 years.
