Today, Saturday, it’s time to say goodbye. The snow will quickly disappear from low altitudes from Sunday onwards. The Christmas thaw begins. Earlier and significantly shorter than in previous years.

“Strong westerly wind clears out the cold air, we get decent plus temperatures,” says Alexander Ohms, meteorologist at GeoSphere Austria. On Sunday the temperatures rise to eight degrees, on Monday it is already ten. The snowfall limit rises to up to 1500 meters above sea level, below which rain showers continue to pass through. On Wednesday, those who don’t have much to do with winter will feel warm again. Then the leniency is over.

“From Thursday it will be cooler again from the north and snow will begin,” says Ohms. Not strong, but at least it could be white again everywhere in the country. The first models will be available until December 24th. And show: snow.
