In 1874 the recommended “Copper beater and pump maker” Johann Vaillant addressed the residents of the German town of Remscheid (near Düsseldorf in the Ruhr area) with an advertisement in the local newspaper. In doing so, he laid the foundation for a company that today has 17,000 employees and most recently had sales of around 3.7 billion euros. Next year Vaillant will be 150 years old.

The company is still family-owned and specializes in products for heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology. The group brings together eight heating technology brands under its umbrella.

“We see ourselves as part of the solution when it comes to the heat transition”Markus Scheffer, Managing Director of Vaillant Group Austria, is quoted in a press release. There are around 500 employees in Austria and the headquarters are in Vienna.
