The young man met with his colleagues on Thursday evening to celebrate in Kematen an der Krems (Linz-Land district). The way home on foot must have been too long for him: around 500 meters from the location, he lay down on a pile of snow and fell asleep, as the police reported on Saturday. A passing car driver finally noticed the boy on his way to work on Friday, shortly before 6 a.m., and immediately provided first aid with two other residents.
The rescue workers who were notified took the 18-year-old, who was unresponsive, to the Kepler University Hospital.
