Quempassingen: Contemplative, musical evening in the Braunauer Steffl

The choir “Da Capo Non Fine” is among others involved in Quempassingen.

Quempassingen is a very special way of performing Advent and Christmas carols. Based on the model in old monasteries and large cathedrals, different groups take turns at Quempassingen. The central component is always making music and singing along together, which will also be the focus this year.

This year there is a new edition of this singing, which has been attracting great interest for years, in the Braunau parish church: the choirs “Da Capo Non Fine”, the Ranshofner church choir, the singing groups from the parishes of Höft, St. Franziskus and St. Stephan Ensemble of the Braunau town band and Markus Reisecker on the organ have joined forces and invite you to Quempassingen on Sunday, December 17th, 5 p.m. They consciously want to present this contemplative evening as a contrast to the sound that promotes shopping. Advent and Christmas songs from different eras can be heard in the impressive Braunau parish church. Well-known and lesser-known tunes are performed in order to delight not only the ear but also the heart, according to the musicians.

Entry to Quempassingen is free. Donations are being collected for organ repairs in the town parish church.
