Medvedchuk called Ukraine’s budget adopted by the Verkhovna Rada disastrous

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the budget for 2022, which is disastrous for the country. This was announced on December 3 by the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk.

“The fact that the Verkhovna Rada approved and adopted the budget on time is a plus, but all the pluses end there … This is a disastrous budget,” he said in an interview with UkrLive TV channel.

Earlier, the Ukrainian parliament adopted the state budget for 2022 with a deficit of 3.5% of GDP and inflation at 6.2%.

According to Medvedchuk, 43.5% of the budget revenues are borrowings.

“That is, we don’t earn money for ourselves. We cannot provide ourselves – the country and the people, and at the same time we talk about some projects, ”he explained.

On November 30, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on tax increases.

The document was supported by 210 deputies from the pro-presidential Servant of the People party, 18 from the For the Future party, 19 from the Doverie party and six non-factional deputies.

The bill increases taxes not only for the entire business, but also for ordinary citizens.

If signed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the document will enter into force on January 1, 2022.
