The Climate Summit held in the United Arab Emirates is the first to be mentioned by the abandonment of fossil energy, which have generated more than 80% of greenhouse gas emissions. Fossil fuels
The text states that the international community “recognizes the need for deep, rapid and lasting reductions in greenhouse gases,” and to this end “asks the parties to contribute” with a list of climate actions, “according to their national circumstances.” “.

The participants also decided to ask the UN to organize an “annual dialogue” to analyze compliance with the goals established to combat climate change. This will be starting June 2024instead of waiting eight years to take stock as happened now.
Global Adaptation Goals
Two years ago, the signatory countries of the 2015 Paris Agreement decided to launch a special program, the Global Adaptation Goals to climate change.
At the Dubai meeting they agreed that “by 2030 all Parties will have carried out updated assessments of climate hazards, the impacts of climate change and exposure to risks and vulnerabilities.”
By 2027, countries must have established “multi-hazard early warning systems, risk reduction information services and systematic observation“of climate change. “By 2030 all Parties will have made progress in the implementation of their national adaptation plans, policies and strategies,” the text adds.

Damage and losses
At the beginning of the conference, the parties decided on the “operationalization” of a Climate Change Loss and Damage Fund for the most vulnerable countries, initially created under the aegis of the World Bank. The fund should start operating in 2024 to compensate the countries that suffer the most from the effects of climate changedespite the fact that they generate the least emissions.
