Musk confirmed on his social media platform X, which he owns, that he would be at Meloni’s event. The four-day “Atreyu” festival begins on Thursday in Rome. Musk traveled to Rome to meet Meloni in June. After that conversation, he told public broadcaster RAI that he had discussed with the Prime Minister possible solutions to Italy’s demographic crisis and the risks of artificial intelligence (AI).
According to media reports, this year’s guests at the festival, which takes place in the ancient Roman fortress of Castel Sant’Angelo near the Vatican, include British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama and the Spanish right-wing extremist opposition politician Santiago Abascal. Meloni recently signed an agreement with Rama, according to which Italy will build and operate two migrant centers on Albanian soil.
The Atreyu Festival, which has been taking place since 1998, was named after the main character of Michael Ende’s fantasy book “The Neverending Story.” Young right-wing politicians discuss society, politics and the economy.
