Between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., police officers from the Braunau inspection station were stationed at the checkpoint there with the support of the state traffic department and the technical inspection platoon of the state of Upper Austria. The vehicles were checked for technical defects and the drivers had valid documents.
The police announced in the evening that the officers found defects in several vehicles, some of which were serious. In two cases these were so serious that there was “imminent danger” and the license plates had to be removed on site.
Two drivers could not show a valid driving license, one was under the influence of drugs, the second driver identified himself with a fake driver’s license. They were also banned from continuing their journey and reports followed. One person was arrested during checks under the Alien Police Act and transferred to the Federal Office for Aliens and Asylum.
