Preparations for a lavish ball night have already begun. The 13th Wels City Ball will take place on Saturday, February 3rd, in the city theater, in parts of the official building and in the business tent. “It is the largest charity ball in Upper Austria and the highlight of social life and the ball season in Wels,” said Mayor Andreas Rabl yesterday at the program presentation with representatives of the Wels service clubs and city marketing, which organize the ball.
Tickets go on sale from Monday
Ticket sales start on Monday, December 18th in the Wels Info on the town square and via Ö-Ticket. 1,400 tickets are available, the cheapest are student tickets for 19 euros, strolling tickets cost 36 euros, seat tickets are available from 46 euros. The opening of the Wels City Ball with the debutante couples will once again be choreographed by the Hippmann dance school. “Young dance couples who want to take part in the opening should simply contact us at the dance school by email; rehearsals will start at the beginning of January,” says Christoph Hippmann. Young talents from the “Ballet Academy” will once again enchant the audience with their dancing skills.
This time the city ball will be moderated by Christian Zöttl from Wels, known as a pick-me-up on the private radio station Life Radio. Hans Peter Gratz & Friends will lead the evening in the theater ballroom with an orchestra that will play until midnight. At 11 p.m. the audience quadrille is on the program again, where everyone is encouraged to dance along. It has not yet been revealed who will create the midnight performance. In the business tent, the band “Bigtime” guarantees a good musical atmosphere.
The ball is financed not only through ticket sales, but also through corporate sponsorships and sponsors. City marketing boss Peter Jungreithmair expects donations of 10,000 to 15,000 euros to be raised and used for charitable purposes in the region. Sponsors are still being sought.
The Wels service clubs take care of the bars and cloakroom in order to collect a nice sum of donations for needy families and social projects. Included are: Lions Club Wels Pollheim, Lions Club Wels Traunau, Wels Leos (in the process of being founded), Kiwanis Wels, Rotaract Wels, Rotary Nova and the Satao association.
