At around 11.45 p.m., the 37-year-old from the Linz-Land district was driving on the Salzkammergutstrasse B145 from Gmunden towards Regau when he skidded in Ohlsdorf. The car crashed into a fence before coming to a stop in a field next to the road. Passers-by saw the driver of the accident secretly trying to leave the field and escape on foot.
When the police had traced him, the alcohol test was carried out – and it showed 0.94 per mille. The 37-year-old has now lost his driving license; it was confiscated from him on the spot. The fire brigade and towing service removed the badly damaged car from the field using a crane and winch.
