They issue an alert for polar cold with temperatures of up to -40°C

After a summer with high temperatures, the Chinese Government is concerned about the cold wave. According to authorities, the weather is expected to spread to other areas of the country.

China issued an alert this Saturday for Polar cold in the north of the territory with temperatures that could reach historic lows, as predicted by meteorological authorities.

According to Chinese news agencies, the polar cold, which comes after a summer with high temperatures, affects “in some parts of northern China and regions along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers that could reach record temperatures or close to the lowest level recorded for the same period of the year.” It is also expected that temperatures drop below -40 ºC in parts of the northeastern province of Heilongjiang and in the Xinjiang region.
