A 60-year-old from the Rohrbach district was driving his car on the B127, Rohrbacher Straße from Ottensheim towards Walding around 1:10 p.m. At kilometer 12,945, due to a microsleep, he came to the left side of the road and collided head-on with the oncoming car, driven by an 80-year-old from the Linz-Land district.
After the collision, the pensioner’s vehicle was thrown over the embankment on the right side of the road and came to a stop on company premises. The 60-year-old’s car came to a stop on the embankment. The 60-year-old was injured and taken to the Kepler University Hospital. His 72-year-old passenger from the Urfahr-Raum district was seriously injured and flown by rescue helicopter to the Kepler University Hospital. The 80-year-old was also seriously injured and taken to the UKH Linz by ambulance, her 29-year-old passenger was also taken to the UKH Linz.
