At 9:20 a.m., the FF Alkoven emergency services were alerted to Eferdinger Straße in the area of the B 129.
Initially nothing was visible on site; only a destroyed fence indicated signs of an accident. In the seepage basin several meters below, a car was found that had previously crashed into the ground with greater force. There was no trace of the occupant or occupants, only traces on the airbag indicated at least minor injuries.
The driver had already had an accident before
According to initial, unconfirmed evidence, the driver had previously had an accident in Alkoven near the old Spar store, in which a railing was destroyed and a large street lamp was beheaded.
The car then probably drove further towards Linz. However, he turned around in the area of the roundabout because the front license plate was lost in the first collision. Lanes could also be seen in the green area at the roundabout.

Landed in the seepage basin on return
On the way back to the Alkoven area, the driver apparently turned the car to the left in the area of the newly built seepage basin at the local train station, where there is only pedestrian access to the new train station area. The car went through the fencing of the seepage basin and fell over the steep embankment into the basin.
Salvage work with crane
The alerted Alkoven fire department used a crane to rescue the damaged vehicle. A search for those involved in the immediate area was negative. The 18 firefighters deployed ended the operation at around 10:26 a.m.
