Great success for Marcus Plank from Steyr: The young hopeful in ski cross showed impressive early form in his season debut at the FIS races last weekend on the Reiteralm and took first and second place. In the final run on Saturday, the athlete from the Steyr ski club kept his teammate Tammo Heldmann, the Swiss Alexi Mosset and the Italian Paolo Piccolo at a distance.
Plank then stayed on track for success as the weekend progressed. In the second race on Sunday, the 21-year-old only had to bow to 17-year-old Janik Sommerer, who led an Austrian quadruple victory ahead of Plank, Heldmann and Hauser.
