Investment projects promoted by Comap reached record levels

In ten months, the initiatives exceeded the total of each of the previous years, although the amounts were decreasing.

The Investment Law Enforcement Commission (Comap) specified that the investment projects recommended to Executive power They are at record levels, having surpassed in the first ten months of the year the total of 2012, when the previous maximum occurred.

In total there were 959 initiatives by Comap, dependent on the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), 67% more than in the same period last year and 35% more than the total for 2022. It is even higher than the 791 that were presented during the sum of 2020 and 2021, according to a report carried out by CPA Ferrere.

However, if an analysis is carried out by quartiles, There is a persistent decline in the amounts of promoted projects, with its highest point in 2015 and its lowest point today.

The gap between the 75th percentile and the 25th percentile narrowed and the average of the investment amounts reached its lowest point. This is why the study observed that “the ‘universalization’ of the regime, thanks to the flexibility granted, generates in return the promotion of smaller, on average, projects.”

Improvement in sectors such as Commerce, Services and Agro

When broken down by sectors, the survey reflected that since 2021 the number of projects linked to Tourism and Industry, while those that have to do with Commerce, Services and Agro.

In turn, the Industrial sector showed a recovery in the relative weight of its investment amounts, compared to the previous two years.

CPA Ferrere also highlighted the nominal amounts and the number of projects in the sector Trade. Although Industry, Agro and Services increased in number, the amounts remained stable, as did Tourism, which had fewer initiatives.
