These are two police officers and three civilians, among whom is an official from Parliament and Parlasur, who agreed to an abbreviated process.
The Justice convicted five people linked to the plot to reveal the confidential identity of the victims for sexual abuse and another series of crimes of a sexual nature committed by the former senator of the National Party (PN), Gustavo Penadés.
Among those convicted of providing aid to the former nationalist legislator are two members of the National Policeas well as three other civilians, among whom is an official of the Parliament and of Parliament of Mercosur (Parlasur).
As initially planned, the five defendants reached an abbreviated agreement after acknowledging their participation in the events, so they could receive a reduction of up to a third in the established sentence.
At the same time, another agreement was also reached to pay economic compensation to the victims according to the Gender-Based Violence Law, meaning about 12 monthly income or minimum wages, as reported by Montevideo Portal.
The Judge Marcela Vargas accepted the abbreviated agreement after the request for indictment carried out by the Sexual Crimes prosecutor, Alicia Ghione. The two police officers were charged with the crimes of criminal association and especially aggravated bribery.
Who are the condemned?
One of them, Marcos Quinones, was convicted of influence peddling for being a key link between Gustavo Penadés and the former director of Comcar, Carlos Tarocowho he worked for.
On the other hand, the Parlasur official is Diego Cuinas Isolawas accused of a continued crime of aggravated influence peddling and aggravated criminal association due to his position as a public official.
As for the other two convicted civilians, one of them kept watch at the request of Taroco to one of the police officers when he met with Jonathan Mastropierro (complainant); while the other lent his house in the Peñarol neighborhood to organize a meal in which they participated wedges, Penades and the former police chief.
