Since last Friday and for the first time in living memory, the community of Puchkirchen has been debt-free again.
15 years ago, the community still had outstanding loans amounting to four million euros. Mayor Anton Hüttmayr (ÖVP) sees two reasons for the positive development: “On the one hand, we were able to significantly increase the population by building apartments and providing building land,” he says. In the past 15 years it has increased from 1,000 to 1,200.
On the other hand, the community has saved and invested, which has significantly reduced costs, for example in the energy sector by setting up photovoltaic systems. Hüttmayr announces a continuation of his financial policy: “Of course, all of this can only be done together with the population, who benefit from moderate fees.”
