At around 5 p.m. there was a serious traffic accident in the municipality of Kirchschlag near Linz involving two vehicles. Both cars were thrown into adjacent fields due to the force of the collision. A car was so badly damaged that the emergency services had to free a trapped person from the wreckage using hydraulic rescue equipment.

Two other passengers and the driver of the second car were able to get out independently. According to initial information, four people were injured. They were treated on site by rescue services and an emergency doctor and then taken to hospitals for further treatment. The Hellmonsödt and Kirchschlag volunteer fire departments took over the clean-up work. The operation was still in progress at around 6:45 p.m. Further information follows.
