A serious accident occurred on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. in the municipality of Pregarten (Freistadt district): a panel van and a car collided on the B124 for reasons that are still unclear. The force of the impact threw the car off the road and came to a stop on an embankment. According to initial information, the occupants were trapped in the wreckage. They had to be freed by the emergency services from the Pregarten and Tragwein fire departments.

However, the two occupants of the van were able to get out of their badly damaged vehicle on their own. According to initial information, four people were injured. In addition to the Tragwein and Pregarten fire departments, the Red Cross with several vehicles, the rescue helicopter and the police were on duty. The B124 had to be closed in the area of the accident site. According to the ÖAMTC, the closure was still ongoing at around 5 p.m.
