A chain of unfortunate circumstances led to a serious industrial accident in the Mühlviertel on Wednesday around 1 p.m. A 35-year-old Syrian from Linz sustained such serious injuries in a fall from a height of six meters that he had to be taken to the UKH Linz by rescue helicopter.

The man was busy cleaning the skylight windows on the ceiling at a company in the Perg district. The scissor lift he was standing on was placed between the two rails for the hall’s aluminum gate, which are about five meters high. For reasons that are still unclear, the gate was activated and the lifting platform and the worker were overturned. The 35-year-old fell from a height of around six meters to the concrete floor, the police said on Wednesday afternoon.
