The Secretary of the Presidency completed his last act and will now focus on the 2024 elections, where he will be a presidential candidate for the National Party.

In his last activity as Secretary of the Presidency, Alvaro Delgado, He took stock of his career in the executive before resigning this Thursday to dedicate himself to his presidential candidacy in the elections 2024.

“We put a lot of heart, a lot of desire, a lot of effort in these almost four years in the Presidency of the Republic“, he stated in his last speech in that role, while ensuring that he leaves with a “sense of peace of duty fulfilled.” Slim was present at the inauguration of the House of Childhood Development in La Paz in cannelloni together with the president of the State Health Services Administration (ASSE), Leonardo Cipriani.

In that sense, he stressed that the government makes decisions daily with the aim of improving people’s lives and that he highly valued the actions of the people in the face of the two catastrophes that they had to face, such as the pandemic and the water crisis. “We gave everything we could, we apologize for the mistakes and people will value the successes,” she said.

Meanwhile, he stressed that he leaves with great peace and tranquility for “having lived up to the challenge, with great humility and I hope that from the trust that in this case the President of the Republic and the government gave me.”

Pending actions

In the midst of a change of government next year, Slim He assured that the Executive continues to work on the pending accounts. Among them, the monitoring of programs such as Advance Plan – which has the objective of providing a housing solution to more than 60,000 citizens – and the Sanitation Plan for 61 cities in the interior of the country.

On the other hand, he highlighted that this year saw progress in investments in the renewable energy sector, specifically in green hydrogen, for which specific groups were created to address this issue in the Presidency. “They are going to continue working, they remain pending, because next year is going to be a year of a lot of work, a lot of intensity,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, Delgado said that the transition plan has already begun with Rodrigo Ferreswho will assume the Presidential Secretariatand with Mariana Cabrerawho will occupy the position in the Prosecretariat. Progress also began with the president Luis Lacalle Pou and the ministries.
