Gusts of up to 100 km/h swept across the entire state from the evening hours onwards. Emergency calls to the fire department’s state warning center increased from 6:30 p.m. However, around 10:30 p.m., the operations and the wind suddenly increased again, as the state fire brigade command reports.
The Inn, Hausruck and Traun districts were primarily affected, but particularly the Pfandl district in the municipality of Bad Ischl.

Around 300 emergency calls were received in the hour before midnight alone. The staff at the state warning center was quadrupled.
The fire brigades throughout the state were mainly busy clearing traffic routes that were blocked by fallen or uprooted trees and securing covered roofs. There were also some broken power lines, damaged PV systems and minor fires. Numerous households were without power during the night, and many of them still had to endure the darkness in the early hours of the morning.
In total, around 3,400 emergency services and 230 fire departments carried out around 400 missions – although the trend is still increasing: the clean-up work is still in full swing.
