Earbuds with an ANC function (Active Noise Cancellation, ANC for short), i.e. headphones with active noise cancellation that are plugged into the ears, are available in a large selection and with a variety of functions. If you are considering a purchase or are looking for a last-minute Christmas present, we would like to give you two questions to guide you:
Which devices are connected? The products shown in this article are connected wirelessly to a cell phone, tablet or PC via Bluetooth. Earbuds from smartphone manufacturers are usually particularly suitable for being paired with a cell phone from the same manufacturer (see Samsung, Google or Apple). To connect multiple source devices at the same time, the earbuds must support multipoint connections.
Which characteristics are important to me? Every device has strengths and weaknesses; all-rounders are usually rather expensive. If you don’t want to spend too much, you should consider before buying whether the focus should be on sound quality, comfort, the ANC function or a long battery life.
