US Navy destroyer entered the Romanian port of Constanta in the Black Sea

The American missile destroyer Arleigh Burke on Sunday, December 5, arrived at the Romanian port of Constanta on the Black Sea for a scheduled visit. About it reported Press Office of the US Sixth Fleet.

“Arleigh Burke conducts routine operations in the Black Sea to ensure naval security and regional stability,” the report says.

The ship entered the Black Sea on November 25 and has already visited the Bulgarian Varna.

On November 25, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that they began tracking the US Navy missile destroyer Arleigh Burke, which entered the Black Sea. The US Sixth Fleet noted that NATO allies and partners are acting in the region to ensure a safe, stable and reliable maritime environment, as well as to strengthen partnership capabilities.

On November 21, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that NATO should stop provocative activities near the Russian borders in order to find a way out of the current tense situation in relations between the Russian Federation and the West. He added that under the guise of the alliance’s exercises in the Black Sea, Ukraine is most likely seeking another attempt to start a military solution to its internal problem.

On November 13, Putin announced that an unplanned US exercise in the Black Sea was a serious challenge for Russia. He said that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation had a proposal to also conduct its own unplanned exercises, but Putin considered it inappropriate.

According to the Montreux Convention, any warship of countries that do not have access to the Black Sea cannot stay there for more than 21 days.
