Party base sees castling in federal party “unagitated”

“Now something has to be brought forward”, Mader hears from the officials in the Vöcklabruck district.

Mader thinks that Kurz has cleared the field as a sensible move. He once brought a breath of fresh air into politics, which is why he regrets his resignation. As a young father, however, he understands this decision.

Mader looks confidently into the future, especially as far as the Vöcklabruck district party is concerned. The region is now very well represented in the country with two parliamentarians and one regional councilor. The two neo-MPs Christian Mader from Schlatt and Elisabeth Gneißl from Frankenburg want to campaign for rural areas. Gneißl is Vice Mayor of Frankenburg and runs an agricultural business. The mother of two had previously been involved in rural youth for many years, including as a federal manager. Mader is mayor in Schlatt and was district manager of the ÖVP for over ten years. Mader rates the fact that Michaela Langer-Weninger from Innerschwand is a regional councilor from the district as “very positive” for the Vöcklabruck region.
