“Between 4 and 5 a.m., the number of customer systems that we were unable to supply was briefly around 14,000,” announced Netz OÖ. Saturday morning, 6,500 households were still affected by the power outage. Meanwhile – as of Saturday lunchtime – there are still 3,800 customers who cannot be supplied.

New interruptions

It said 200 employees were on duty to restore the power supply. In some cases, the technical teams are supported by the fire brigade on site. However, due to the persistent stormy weather, disruptions are to be expected again and again throughout the day. Repair work currently underway is being carried out and completed. “New repairs, however, will only be undertaken if they do not endanger the emergency teams,” said the energy supplier. “It is possible that the weather will prevent an immediate repair – this also means that there could be customer systems that could be without power overnight. If this were the case, the repair would be carried out tomorrow, Christmas Eve,” said Netz OÖ.
