The 22-year-old from Vorarlberg scored a goal, prepared two goals and was named the game’s best player in the Minnesota Wild’s 4-3 home win after extra time against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. Kirill Kaprisov decided the game with his goal five seconds before the end of extra time.

Rossi made it 2-0 (15th) and provided the preparatory work for the power play goals from Matt Boldy to make it 1-0 (14th) and from Brock Faber to make it 3-2 (49th). But Rossi was also able to impress away from the points list in the game against the Canadiens by completing his first “Gordie Howe hat trick”: After a hard check on Kaprizov in the second third, the Vorarlberg player attacked Kaiden Guhle, and the Austrian received five penalty minutes for the fight as well as two plus ten more for provocation.

After 31 games this season, Rossi has eleven goals and ten assists, making him his team’s second-best goalscorer. Minnesota celebrated its fifth win in its last six games.

In Denver, Nathan MacKinnon scored four times for the Colorado Avalanche and also scored his 300th career goal. The home team defeated the Ottawa Senators 6:4. MacKinnon also provided an assist and has now contributed points in 17 games.
