The Peilstein police officers were amazed when two brothers (27 and 29 years old) recently showed up and complained that they had ordered and paid for fake driver’s licenses online, but they had never been delivered. The duo is now even under suspicion of having committed an attempted document offense. A complaint was made to the Linz public prosecutor’s office.
The two brothers told the police that they came across an advertisement on Facebook this June. Driving licenses were offered for sale in it. The two people from Mühlviertel contacted the counterfeiters and decided to buy class B driving licenses. She wanted to use this in traffic, as she admitted frankly and freely. They transferred a total of 4600 euros to a German and a British account to the crooks. But when the goods were still not delivered after five months, they went to the police. The unknown counterfeiters are also being investigated.
