The terminal of Three Crosses expects a circulation of approximately 4,500 buses until Tuesday, on the occasion of the long weekend of Christmas in Uruguay. The company increased the offer of services to supply the increase in demand.
Christmas It is a time of year when many people take the opportunity to travel, meet with family and friends, and spend the holidays with their loved ones. For this reason, the demand for tickets tends to increase at this time of year and, with it, bus circulation. Even more so if it falls on a long weekend, like this year.
Given this scenario, from Friday until next Tuesday, the Tres Cruces terminal expects a movement of close to 4,500 buses, according to the head of Control Tower, Pablo Saravíto Telemundo.
A peculiarity of these dates is that there is no destination that sells more than another and that many even come from the interior to Montevideo to spend with family, the main reason why Uruguayans travel at this time of year.
“The movement is taking place throughout the country and even Montevideo, It is not like the summer season that there is a marked movement towards the east of the country,” said Saraví, in this regard.
For his part, the leader highlighted the expectations for the remainder of 2023, including the end of the year. “Since the beginning of summer season until January 2, when we are going to have a fairly large movement, we hope that it will be closing in about 13,000 buses that pass through Tres Cruces,” he expressed.
