Neighbors had informed the officers because the man, “who didn’t belong there,” was in the basement of their house and didn’t want to leave. The 50-year-old from Munich then told the police that he was allowed to stay in the cellar because, after all, he was the “Grand Emperor of Avalon.”

“When the officers interjected argumentatively supported doubts about the imperial title into the lively discussion with the Munich resident, he suddenly became aggressive,” says the Rosenheim police report from Tuesday about the incident that happened late on Friday evening. He started insulting the police officers and threatening them with death and was then taken into custody.

According to the police, an investigation for insult is now underway against him. “The imperial dignity of the man from Munich has not yet been proven,” the police said.
