The Steyr municipal company employees checked and cleared paths and trees in the castle park and on the promenade. The two areas that were closed shortly before Christmas are now freely accessible again. This means that the nativity scene exhibition in the former palm house is accessible again.

The highlights of the exhibition in the Palmenhaus are the baroque Lamberg nativity figures and the so-called “wagon nativity scene” by Mühlviertler Josef Seidl, which was specially made for the “Light into the Dark” campaign. This “rolling nativity scene”, installed in an ÖBB wagon, was used as an advertising medium in Austria, Lichtenstein, Italy and Germany in 1992 and 1997 for the ORF “Light in the Dark” fundraising campaign during Advent. Both nativity scenes are sure to delight young and old alike with their wealth of figures and details. In order to make visiting the nativity scene exhibition an experience especially for children, special participation boxes are waiting for families in the exhibition.

The exhibition is open until January 6, 2024, Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The palm house is closed on December 31st and January 1st. Admission is free.

In the morning, two fallen trees in the dog off-leash area still had to be cleared up. The free running area should be usable again during the afternoon.

The Steinwändweg and the Untere Schiffweg remain closed for the time being. The clean-up work is also underway here.
