Round 7 of the negotiations surrounding the commercial KV have led to an agreement.

After a little more than three hours of negotiations, employers and unions agreed on a new collective agreement in retail starting Wednesday evening. The salaries and wages of employees will increase between 8.3 and 9.2 percent, the GPA announced in a press release on Wednesday evening. This corresponds to an average increase of 8.43 percent. Apprentice incomes will therefore increase by 10 percent.

According to the information, apprentice incomes will be increased to 880 euros in the first year of training, to 1,130 euros in the second year of training and to 1,430 euros in the third year of training. With the qualification, the minimum salary for career starters also increases. This is now 2,124 euros gross, the union continued.

“It was important to us that we achieve a permanently effective salary agreement for everyone. It is also important that we got the one-off payment proposed by the employers off the table. In perspective, this would have been a huge loss for the employees,” said the chief negotiator GPA, Helga Fichtinger, quoted in the broadcast.
