Four occupants of an ambulance have died after it collided with a tour bus in a road tunnel near Urbino in the Marche region of central Italy on Wednesday. The ambulance burst into flames, Italian media reported. The victims are said to be the three-man crew of the ambulance and one person who was transported to a hospital.
A helicopter flew to the scene of the accident from nearby Ancona, but any help came too late for the occupants of the ambulance. There were children on board the coach who were taking part in a parish outing. They remained unhurt.
