Record number of illegal aliens

The number of undocumented immigrants who crossed into the United States in the last 11 months has already exceeded the population of the country’s 15 smallest states, according to data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Figures show that around 2.7 million immigrants crossed US borders illegally between January and November, the majority of which occurred across the border with Mexico, the Sputnik news agency reported.

As of Tuesday, there were about 250,000 illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border this month, according to reports.

The current monthly record was set in September with 269,735 apprehensions, according to CBP data.

States with populations smaller than total migrant border crossings this year include New Mexico, Nebraska, Idaho, West Virginia, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Maine, Montana, Rhode Island, Delaware, South Dakota, North Dakota, Alaska, Vermont and Wyoming.

Biden had asked Blinken; the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, and the White House National Security Advisor, Liz Sherwood Randall, who will travel to Mexico after agreeing by telephone with López Obrador that additional actions are needed along the common border to reopen key entry ports.

The visit of the head of American diplomacy, unusual in that it took place during Christmas week, was abruptly scheduled, at a time when the opposition Republican Party is pressuring Biden to adopt measures against migration in exchange for his congressmen approving new aid for Ukraine.
