A 37-year-old died and other people were injured. Including the woman’s 11-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son. The 11-year-old also died of her injuries in hospital, the police announced on Friday afternoon. The 9-year-old son was seriously injured and is still being treated.
2 other women, 70 and 45 years old, were injured. The 70-year-old is seriously ill and is in hospital. The 63-year-old truck driver was also injured in the accident. After being treated in hospital, he is in police custody.
The driver had continued driving after making a delivery in the shopping street, which is also popular with Upper Austrians, apparently wanted to pass a stopped vehicle and hit five pedestrians, the Lower Bavarian police reported.
Shortly after 2 p.m., Bahnhofstrasse was reopened to traffic. It is said that the police measures and expert work have been completed. The truck was towed away and seized for further evidence collection.
