Goat Sissi had her beard stolen on Monday night in Großwilfersdorf in Eastern Styria: between 4:00 and 6:00 a.m., an unknown perpetrator cut off the ten centimeter long hair on the chin of the trusting goat in the unlocked stable. “A description of the perpetrators of Sissi and her flatmates has not yet been brought about,” said the Styrian State Police Directorate.
Krampusse or Perchten at work?
“Whether Krampus or Perchten are up to mischief here or whether it is a serious fanatic is the subject of ongoing investigations,” said the police. According to the owners, they had seen the trusting animal with a beard until about 4 a.m., as they were still in the barn because of the nocturnal birth of a calf. After two hours of sleep, the beard was suddenly gone. The other twelve goats, some cows and donkeys were apparently spared.
Sissi was unharmed
The farmer filed a complaint because, strictly speaking, it was property damage. “In any case, the goat was unharmed – her beard should also grow back properly,” the police concluded their report.
