The OTA is primarily used in the operating room area. These are sometimes also encountered in outpatient clinics with wound care or in endoscopy. OTA training can be completed directly at the clinic. Depending on your previous knowledge, this can be completed in three years. The upgrade takes two years. Around a third of the lessons include theory, while OTA candidates spend two thirds in practice. The next course begins in September 2024. The registration period runs until May 10th. Surgical assistants in training receive pocket money of 600 euros. An employment relationship is possible from the second year onwards.
