The talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have ended. The meeting took place on Monday, December 6, in New Delhi and lasted about 3.5 hours.
As a result of the negotiations, a joint statement was adopted, and a number of agreements were signed.
In particular, Putin and Modi agreed that it is necessary to fully implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The parties also expressed support for efforts aimed at the early restoration of the Iranian “nuclear deal”.
At the same time, Russia and India signed an agreement on a program of military-technical cooperation until 2031. According to the Indian Prime Minister, the agreements signed in various areas will help the countries. At the same time, the President of the Russian Federation stressed that the Russian side treats India as a great power with a friendly people.
Putin arrived in India for talks earlier that day. The cortege of the President of the Russian Federation arrived at the Hyderabad Palace in the center of New Delhi, where he was greeted by Modi.
The last time the Prime Minister of India and the President of Russia met in September 2019 at the V Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
